The World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Thursday, 23 November 2023, that health authorities have not detected any unusual or new pathogens and have provided requested data on the rise in respiratory tract diseases and cases of pneumonia reported in children.
WHO requested more information from China on Wednesday after groups including the Program for Monitoring Emerging Diseases (Pro-MED) reported outbreaks of diagnosed pneumonia in children in the northern region of China.
